In this project we removed a load bearing wall which separated the living room from the kitchen, because the living room area was dark with little natural light. We had to add additional foundation support for the framing and install a 14.5-foot steel beam to support the second-floor framing. Now with this open layout, everyone can interact with family and friends, no matter if you are in the kitchen or living room. And now the living room benefits from the natural light coming in the large windows in the dinning room.
